I recently did a circular walk in Swaledale with good friends Geoff and Chris, starting from Gunnerside and walking up the gill and then over Melbecks Moor and down to the Old Gang Smelt Mill, before returning to Gunnerside via Surrender Bridge and Barf End.
I took a camera and made these snaps along the way. So much to explore! Next time I go it will be with a tripod and a better time of day. The lead mining industry laid waste to some of the upper reaches, but it makes compelling photography.
This looks like a really interesting walk, your B&W images portray a sense of a bleak unforgiving landscape. Looks as though you were blessed with decent weather.
